Frequently asked questions

If you are someone who is on a journey towards better physical and mental health or someone who is suffering from a chronic, non life-threatening ailment and want to reduce their dependence on medications, then Acupuncture is one of the best holistic modalities you may try.

When done by a qualified, trained professional; acupuncture is extremely safe. We use sterilized, single-use, disposable needles to ensure your complete safety.

Most people who have had acupuncture would describe it as painless at certain points to feeling a sensation akin to an ant’s bite at others. We use very fine surgical steel needles that are not hollow like a hypodermic needle. You might experience a dull sensation or tingling near the insertion points during the treatment. This indicates “deqi”, assentation of arrival of Qi which usually subside in a minute or two.

We recommend you eat your meal 1.5-2 hours prior to the session. Please refrain from smoking or consuming any alcohol and wear comfortable loose clothing.

The initial consultation (Detailed history taking and examination) may last from 30-45 minutes. Thereupon, each session may take 45 mins to an hour.

We aim to see improvements after each visit such as reduction in pain, increased range of motion/ease of movement and decreased sign and symptoms. Some may report slight soreness on the needled areas. This usually subsides within a few hours.

Rest, Relax and Recover. Drink water to flush out toxins. Perform stretches for the affected muscles. We also recommend Epsom salt/Rock salt warm baths (for muscle relaxation).
